Georgia Sarkis

I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University with a deep commitment to personal growth, mental health, and the well-being of others. My journey toward becoming a therapist has been shaped by both personal experiences and professional exposure to the importance of emotional support, resilience, and the healing that takes place in safe, affirming spaces. I have always been drawn to the human experience—how people cope, grow, and find meaning even in the most difficult circumstances—and this curiosity and compassion have led me to the field of therapy.

I am particularly passionate about working with individuals who are navigating depression, anxiety, and trauma. These areas are often complex and layered, and I believe in the importance of a trauma-informed lens that honours each person’s lived experience. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapeutic environment where clients can feel truly seen and heard. My approach emphasizes collaboration, and I see therapy as a partnership where we work together to explore challenges, identify strengths, and move toward meaningful change.

Psychotherapy with Self-Compassion

I am especially interested in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which provides practical tools to help clients understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I also integrate elements of mindfulness and self-compassion into my work, as I believe healing requires both insight and the ability to treat ourselves with kindness. I value cultural humility and bring an open-minded, respectful stance to every therapeutic relationship, recognizing that each client’s identity and background play a significant role in how they experience the world..
